4.64kg gold seized at Dhaka airport

Staff Correspondent: The preventive team of Dhaka Custom House has seized 4.64kg gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday.
The gold was seized from a flight of US Bangla Airlines after it arrived at the airport from Muscat around 7:00am in an abandoned condition.
Assistant Director of Dhaka Customs Office HM Ahsanul Kabir confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
Acting on a tip-off, a preventive team of customs found the presence of metal objects inside two seats of the flight and recovered 2 bundles of gold worth Tk 2.32 crore, wrapped in scotch tape.
