Staff Correspondent: Customs officials seized over 4.5 kilograms of gold from a flight of at Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The law enforcers seized the gold bars from underneath a seat of aircraft ‘Ranga Prabhat’, Dhaka Customs House deputy commissioner Othello Chowdhury confirmed.
“Acting on a secret information, a preventive team of Dhaka customs took position in various key points inside the airport. Later, the team entered the flight BG-228 and recovered the gold bars from seat number. 34-B in an abandoned condition,” Othello Chowdhury said.
Market price of the gold bars would be around Tk 2.32 crore.
