43 school teachers get death threats in Jashore

Staff Correspondent: Miscreants have threatened to kill 43 teachers of Jashore Zilla School.

The panicked eachers informed the headmaster of the school over the threat on Saturday. Later, headteacher AKM Golam Azam filed a general diary with local police station.

According to the GD, the death threats came from unknown sources, in the name of outlawed Purbo Bangla Communist Party.

AKM Golam Azam said that he received a phone call on Thursday morning from 01632375930. The caller asked about the details about school identifying him as joint secretary. The unknown man asked for the acting headteacher’s phone number, and collected the phone numbers and salary information of other teachers.

Later, assistant teacher Nazrul Islam Khan said that he was threatened at first, on Friday morning. Afterwards, each of the teachers received the death threats gradually.

The deputy commissioner have been informed the matter, the headmaster added.
