44th Annual General Meeting of BAT Bangladesh held

Desk Report: The 44th Annual General Meeting of British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Wednesday.

With Mr. Golam Mainuddin, Chairman, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, in the chair. A large number of shareholders attended the meeting and unanimously passed the Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2016, Directors’ Report and the Auditor’s Report.

The shareholders also approved the proposed dividend of Tk 60 per share. In 2016, the Company contributed Tk 13,631 crore as value added tax, supplementary duty and other taxes to the national exchequer. This contribution makes BAT Bangladesh as the highest tax payer in the country.
