5 DNCC mayoral aspirants get polls symbol

Staff Correspondent: The five candidates for mayoral race of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) have got their poll symbols.

Election Commission (EC) allocated the election symbols on Sunday morning.

For DNCC mayoral race, Awami League nominated candidate Atiqul Islam was given ‘Boat’ symbol, Jatiya Party’s Shafin Ahmed ‘Plough’, National People’s Party’s Anisur Rahman Dewan ‘Mango’ Pragatishil Ganatantrik Party’s Shahin Khan ‘Tiger’ and independent Abdur Rahim ‘Table Clock’.

The last date for withdrawing candidacy was February 9. Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM) Chairman and candidate Bobby Hajjaj withdrew his nomination on that day.

The election is set to be held on February 28
