5 held with 25 kg gold in N'ganj

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained five men with 25 Kilogrammes of gold from Moinghat area of Dohar in Dhaka on Friday.

The detainees' are- Mohsin, 47, son of Alep Khan, Firoz, 34, son of Md. Shahjada, Siddik, 46, son of late Yakub Sheikh, Mizan, 34, son of Jamat Ali and Aminul Islam, 40.



RAB-11 Narayanganj Adamji Nagar Camp Commander Rasel Ahmed Kabir said acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers conducted a drive in the area around 7:00am. Meanwhile, sensing presence of RAB officials, the five people from an auto-rickshaw tried to flee the scene. Later, 200 pieces of gold bars were found from them searching their bodies.
