10 killed in Narayanganj road accident

Staff Correspondent: At least ten people were killed and 30 others injured after a bus crashed into a lorry on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Sonargaon in Narayanganj on Monday noon.

The injured have been admitted to different hospitals.

According to witnesses and police, a Chittagong-bound bus of CDM Paribahan around 1.15pm crashed into the lorry which was parked at the roadside in Tribordi area. 

Two died on the spot. Two succumbed to their injuries at Sonargaon Upazila Health Complex and four at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Among the dead are two children, two women and six men.

Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost, confirmed the matter. The number of death toll may increase.
