5 killed in landmine blasts at Bandarban border

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: At least five Rohingya people were killed and three were injured in several landmine blast incidents at Bandarban border.
All mines blasted on Sunday and Saturday nights.
Bandarban’s Ghundhum Union Parishad chairman Jahangir Aziz said Md Hasan (27), son of Rohingya citizen Abul Khayer, was injured in a landmine blast at Tumbru border on Sunday. His legs were blown up in the blast.
On Sunday, a Rohingya named as Salimullah (28) was killed and another person named Nurul Amin was injured in another blast.
Earlier on Saturday night, three Rohingyas were killed and two others injured in a mine explosion near Rezu border. One of the injured died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The identity of the deceased was not known.
Colonel Anisur Rahman, acting commander of Cox's Bazar region, said, "We are getting mine explosion information on the border. But these are happening near the boundary fences”.
