5 militants on 5-day remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has granted five days of remand to the five militants in a case filed with Badda Police Station under Anti-Terrorism Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari passed the order on Thursday while investigation officer of the case produced them before the court seeking remand for seven days.

The remanded accused are—Wali Jaman alias Oli, 28; Anwarul Alam alias Anwar, 29; Saleh Ahammad alias Shis, 22; Abul Kashem, 27 and Mohsin alias Mohon, 20.

On March 20, police arrested the militants from the capital’s Jatrabari and Uttar Badda areas after conducting drives there.

Police also recovered some jihadi books and explosives making materials from their possession.
