5 of a family sentenced to life for killing businessman

Staff Correspondent: A Comilla court on Monday sentenced five people of a family to life term imprisonment for killing a businessman named Jakir Hossain.

Additional district and session judge court-4 justice Nur Nahar Begam Sheuli passed the order on Monday after hearing.

The convicts are- Babul Saha, 55, of Pachhimgaon vilage in Laksam sadar, his wife Gita Rani Saha and their three son Mithun Saha, 23, Tutul Saha, 26 and Shimul Saha, 19.

According to the case statement, following previous enmity, the convicts attacked the victim with leathal weapon on November 6, 2010, leaving him critically injured.

Meanwhile, locals rushed to the spot and sent Jakir Hossain to Laksam Upazila Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital but Jakir died on the way to hospital.
