5 workers sustain burn injuries in Savar

Staff Correspondent: At least five workers of a dyeing factory sustained burn injuries as hot water fell on them in Jamgara area of Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.

The injured are- Ramzan Mollah, Nur Islam, Saju, Monir and Kalam.

Of them, three were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) burn unit.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Bacchu Mia said that the incident took place when the workers were boiling water for dyeing cotton at ‘One Threat BD Limited’ in Ashulia on Thursday night. Later, the hot water poured on them accidentally at night shift when they were working in the factory.  

Doctors said that Ramzan Mollah received 48 percent burns while, Nur Islam and Saju received 35 and 40 percent burn injuries respectively.
