500 MW electricity to come from India

Risingbd Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated a project regarding import of 500 MW Additional Power Supply from India to Bangladesh through Behrampore-Bheramara inter-connection.
Through this project, additional 500MW of electricity has been added to the national grid of Bangladesh.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the project through video conferencing from her official residence Ganabhaban on Monday afternoon.
Two other projects-- Kulaura-Shahbajpur Section Rehabilitation of Bangladesh Railway and Akhaura-Agartala Duel Gauge Rail Connectivity (Bangladesh part)—were also inaugurated while West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tripura Chief Minister Biplob Kumar Dev and Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj also joined the inauguration event through the video conferencing.
