6 held with 14kg gold in Narsingdi

Staff Correspondent: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained six people along with 120 gold bars weighing 14 kilograms from two buses on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Panchdona area of Narsingdi Sadar upazila.
The detainees are- Jamal Hossain, 22, Tanvir Ahmed, 25, Razu Hossain, 23, Abul Hasan, 35, Razu Ahmed, 30 and Alauddin, 32.
Major Rahat Kharun Khan, Deputy Commander of RAB-3 made the disclosure while addressing a press conference in the capital on Monday.
Acting on tip-off, the RAB personnel detained three smugglers along with 60 gold bars from a Dhaka-bound passenger bus on Sunday.
Later, three more people were arrested with 60 gold bars from another bus in the same route.
The worth of the seized gold bars has been estimated around Tk 6 crore, Rahat Harun Khan said.
