68.91% pass HSC exams

Staff Correspondent: Total 68.91 percent students passed this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations across the country among whom 37,726 students have obtained Grade Point Average (GPA)-5.

This pass rate was 74.70 percent in the previous year where 58,276 students secured GPA-5.

Total pass rate is 66.84 percent under eight general boards and 33,242 students in the boards secured GPA-5. The pass rate is 77.02 percent under madrasa board and 1,815 students in the board obtained GPA-5 while 81.33 percent under technical board with 2,669 students obtaining GPA-5.

Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban around 10:30am on Sunday. Different education board chairmen were present during this time.

Later, the education minister will formally announce the results through a press conference at the secretariat at 1:00pm.

Institution-based result sheet has to be downloaded through entry of EIIN of respective educational institution from www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd.

Students can also collect their results from www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, result corner of www.educationboard.gov.bd and website of respective education board.

A total of 11,83,686 examinees under eight general education boards including madrasa and technical boards appeared in the HSC and the equivalent examinations this year.

The HSC and equivalent examinations of 2017 began countrywide on April 2. The written tests ended on May 15 while practical tests on May 25.
