7 BNP leaders including Fakhrul get anticipatory bail

Staff Correspondent: The High Court (HC) has granted anticipatory bail to seven BNP leaders including the party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed for instigating subversive activities.

The seven other leaders are Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Nazrul Islam Khan,  Amanullah Aman and Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu.

The High Court bench of Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice Kashefa Hussain granted them bail on Wednesday till submission of police report in the case to a lower court concerned.

Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Advocate Khandker Mahbub Hossain, Advocate Zainul Abedin and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon appeared for the accused BNP leaders.

The case statement reads that the leaders delivered “provocative and anti-government speeches” at the rally on Sunday, and party supporters committed the offences while returning from the programme.
