71 including Santals get bail in 4 cases

Gaibandha Correspondent: A district court in Gaibandha granted bail to 71 people, most of whom are Santals of Gobindaganj in four cases filed over a clash.

Gobindaganj Senior judicial magistrate ASM Taskinul Haque granted their bail on Monday afternoon.

Earlier, on 22 December in 2016, the High Court granted a six-week interim bail to them in the cases.

Defense lawyer Advocate Abdur Rashid said on November 6, 2016, law enforcers and workers of Rangpur Sugar Mills clashed with the Santal people in Gobindaganj upazila. Following the incident, four cases had been filed against 122 people in this connection.
