8 including Myanmar citizens held with large Yaba haul

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested eight people, including six Myanmar nationals, along with six lakh pieces of Yaba tablets.

They were arrested from Charpara Sluice gate area under Patenga Thana early Sunday.

Rab-7 Commander Lt. Col. Miftah Uddin Ahmed said tipped-off that a big consignment of Yaba tablets was being smuggled into Bangladesh through Patenga, a Rab team conducted a drive and seized the consignment of six lakh contraband pills.

During the drive, the Rab personnel arrested six Myanmar citizens and two Bangladeshis from the spot.

A case was filed in this connection.
