8 of a family burnt dead

Joypurhat Correspondent: Eight members of a family have burnt to death in a fire originated from an electric short circuit at Aramnagar in the district town.

According to source, a fire which originated from an electric short circuit, broke out the house around 9.30pm on Wednesday when Momena Begum was cooking food in a rice cooker.

Three members of the family died on the spot and four others died on the way to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.  Another died on the way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

The deceased were identified as house owner Abdul Momin, his wife Porina Begum, daughters Bristy, Hasi,  Khushi, son Nur, father Dulal Hossain and mother Momena Begum.

Sirajul Islam, Inspector of Joypurhat Fire Service, said on information two units of service rushed to spot and doused the fire.
