Eight of a family burnt in city fire

Staff Correspondent: Eight members of a family have suffered burn injuries in a fire at a house in UttarKhand area of the capital.

The injured are- Dablu, 33, Azizul, 27, Anzu, 25, Abdullah, 5, Muslima, 20, Purnima, 35, Sufia, 50 and Sagor, 12.

Sources said that the fire originated from a leak in a gas pipeline in a three storied building around 4:00am on Saturday, leaving the eight people injured.

Later, the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 6:00am. 

Burn unit sources said that of the injured, Dablu suffered 65percent burn injury while Azizul and Sufia suffered 99 percent burns Muslima and Purnima suffered 98 percent and 80 percent burns on their bodies respectively.
