80 Navy men off to Lebanon to join UN peace mission

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: The second team consisting of 80 members of Bangladesh Navy left Shah Amanat International Airport to join UN peacekeeping mission Banankan-9 (UNIFIL) in Lebanon.

A special flight of the UN carrying the Navy members left for Lebanon on Monday night (July 16). This second group will join the ship ‘Bijoy’ deployed there.

A press release issued from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Department has confirmed this to media on Tuesday.

Commander Chief Staff Officer to Chattogram Naval Zone Captain M Abdus Samad saw the team off while senior officials of Navy and family members of the second team were present.

Earlier on July 8, the first team of 30 Navy members flew to Lebanon.
