80pc preparation for national polls completed: EC

Staff Correspondent: Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed said 80 percent preparations for the 11th national parliamentary elections have been completed.

He has also ruled out possibility to hold any dialogue with political parties ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The EC secretary made the revelations at a press briefing after meeting the election commissioners at the commission’s Agargaon office in the capital on Thursday.

Helal Uddin Ahmed said the election schedule is likely to be announced in the first week of November and the probable date of elections will be at December-end or the start of January.
