90pc wastage of sacrificial animals removed

Staff Correspondent: About 90 percent wastage of sacrificial animals of Dhaka city has been removed within 24 hours.

About 22,270 tonnes of wastage of sacrificial animals was removed till 2.00pm on Sunday.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) disclosed this at a joint press conference on Sunday.

Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sayeed Khokon spoke on the occasion.
 

Earlier on Saturday, the mayor declared that both the Dhaka South and North City Corporations would remove wastage of sacrificial animal within 24-hour.

As many as 17,000 cleaners have been working to remove wastage of sacrificing animals in the city.

The city corporations have cancelled leave of their officials and employees to this end.
