A smile makes entire country unstable: Ershad

Staff Correspondent: Jatiya Party (JP) chairman Hussain Mohammad Ershad said a smile made the entire country unstable.

He said, “Shipping Minister’s smile after death of two students in accident caused the whole country unstable. Now they (ruling party leaders) smile if people die. There is no value of people’s lives to them. The little students do not understand politics. They want to live. But leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) carried out attack on them. It is unfortunate.”

JP chairman, also the special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, came up with the observation while speaking at a programme at the Auditorium of Supreme Court Bar on Saturday noon.

He said, “We are now hostages to transport owners. I request the government not to compromise with them whether they run buses or not. Everybody has to abide by the law.”
