AC among 2 shot in Dhaka 'gunfight'

Staff Correspondent: An assistant commissioner of detective branch (DB) of police and a source of police were shot in a 'gunfight' in front of Gendaria Nagar Sastho Kendra of the capital Shyampur area on Saturday night.

The injured were identified as Rahul Patwary, an assistant commissioner of DB, and police informer Mridul, 22.

Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Shyampur Police Station, confirmed the news.
 

He said acting on a tip off, a team of DB West Zone conducted a drive in the area, sensing the presence of the law enforcers, miscreants fired at them, leaving bullet-hit.
 

The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 9:15pm.
