ACC summons DIG Mizan on graft charge

Staff Correspondent: Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mizanur Rahman for interrogation on many corruption charges including his alleged involvement in accumulating illegal wealth.

ACC Deputy Director Farid Ahmed Patowary sent the summon notice to Mizan on Wednesday.

In the notice, DIG Mizan has been asked to appear before the ACC head office on May 3.

ACC's Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed this to risingbd.com.

ACC Deputy Director Farid Ahmed Patowary was assigned as an investigation officer on February 10 to investigate into the allegations brought against DIG Mizan.

According to the ACC, strong evidence has been found against DIG Mizan that he was engaged in misconduct and corruption while on duty. His alleged involvement in accumulating wealth from unknown sources is very evident.

On January 9 this year, Mizanur Rahman was withdrawn from his position due to allegations of abducting a young woman at gunpoint and forcing her to marry him.
