ACC wants life-term imprisonment for Khaleda Zia

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) wants life-term imprisonment for two accused including BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage and Charitable Trust graft case.

Alongside, the watchdog body also demanded seven years imprisonment for four other accused including BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in the case.

Public Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal demanded this to Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of Special Judge Court-5 of Dhaka while arguing in the case on Tuesday.

Earlier around 11:00am, BNP Chief Khaleda Zia reached the court set at the capital's Bakshibazar.

Later, lawyers filed a petition seeking permanent bail for Khaleda Zia. After hearing in this regard, the judge extended bail till the next date of the case.
