ASI arrested on charge of extortion at Uttara

Staff Correspondent: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) namely Alamgir Hossain on charge of extortion from the city's Uttara area.

DB police arrested him from Uttara Purba Thana area on Thursday noon on charge of collecting extortion from many money exchange institutions.  He was posting at Uttara Purba Thana.

Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Uttara) Bidhan Tripura confirmed the matter.
