Abducted AL leader Parvez rescued

Staff Correspondent: Cumilla district Awami League leader also former Titas upazila parishad chairman, who was picked up by men in plainclothes from his home in the capital’s Lalmatia area Friday afternoon, was found in Purbachal area of the city at night.

The abducted victim phoned his family members around 12:15am Saturday from capital's Purbachal (300 ft road). Later, a team of police rescued him from the area.

Jamal Uddin Mir, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station confirmed the matter.

Unknown people left him in 300 feet area. Later, he was taken to Mohammadpur police station.

Earlier, on Friday noon, some unidentified people dragged Parvez Hossain Sarker into a car when he was returning home after offering Juma prayers at Lalmatia mosque.
