Abdur Razzak added to test squad

Sports Correspondent: Abdur Razzak, the left-arm spinner, has been added to the Bangladesh squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka.

He was recalled to the test squad in place of Shakib Al-Hassan as he had been sidelined for finger injury in the final match of the tri-nation series against Sri-Lanka on Saturday.

Razzak is among the most experienced players for Bangladesh in the limited-overs formats but has not been a regular in the Test side with some excuses. His last Test came in 2013 against Sri Lanka.

Razzak is the only Bangladeshi cricketer who achieved the milestone of 510 wickets in 114 matches.

Razzak himself confirmed the news of recalling to the test squqd.

He said, "I was astonished when the chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu called me over phone and told me to join the squad after four years."

"I'm happy and ready to join the squad. I'm now totally fit as I kept myself in the games regularly," he added.

Bangladesh team flew for Chittagong around 3:00pm on Sunday where the host will face the first test against Sri Lanka to be started on January 31 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Abdur Razzak will leave Dhaka for Chittagong around 7:35pm on the day.
