Actions against officials if found guilty: Education Minister

Secretariat Correspondent: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said legal actions must be taken against two officials of the ministry arrested by Detective Branch (DB) of Police, if they are found guilty.

The minister came up with the reaction in press press conferencen in Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday.

DB arrested the minister's official for their alleged involvement in financing militancy.

In reply to a query, Nahid said DB has yet not informed the ministry over the arrest of the two officials.

Detectives arrested Nasiruddin, upper division staff of the ministry, from Gulshan area and Motaleb Hossain, personal officer of the minister, from the capital's Basila.

Families of the twos claimed that they were picked up by unknown men. General Diaries (GDs) were also filed in this connection in concerned police stations.

Later, the news revealed on Sunday night that they were arrested by DB.

Khaled Hossain Matin, owner of Lakehead Grammar School, was also shown arrested on the day.
