Actor Helal Khan held

Staff Correspondent: National Film Award winning actor Helal Khan, also a leader of BNP`s cultural wing Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas), has been detained by law enforcers.

Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) picked the actor up from Dhaka Judge Court area around 4.00pm on Monday, Shairul Kabir Khan, an official of the BNP chairperson`s press wing, told risingbd.com.

He said the actor went to the Dhaka Judge Court area to meet BNP joint general secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi who appeared before the court in a case filed against him.

Detective police picked up Helal Khan when he was returning from there, Shairul Kabir Khan added.

Meanwhile, Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, confirmed the arrest of Helal Khan.
