Actress Nawshaba on 4-day remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has placed actress Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed on a four-day remand in a case filed under Information and Technology (ICT) Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mazharul Haque on Sunday passed the order after Bikash Kumar Pal, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Uttara Pashchim Police Station, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, filed a petition seeking a seven-day remand for her.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) handed her over to Uttara Police on Sunday noon.

Earlier, RAB held Nawshaba from the capital’s Uttara on Saturday night for allegedly spreading rumours on Facebook over the attack on student protesters demanding safe roads.
