Actress Nawshaba put on fresh remand

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court on Friday put actress and model Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed on a two-day fresh remand in a case filed over spreading rumors of deaths among student protesters during the campaign for safe roads.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Amirul Haidar Chowdhury passed the order around 4:30pm after hearing.

Police produced her before the court seeking 10 days more remand in the case filed under Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

Earlier on August 5, police received permission to question actress and model Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed in their custody for four days.

On August 4, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained her from Uttara area in the capital.
