Admin and economic cadres merged

KMA Hasnath: Two cadres of the civil administration - admin cadre and economic cadre- have been merged together.

After a long wait, a gazette notification was released in this regard on Tuesday. The order will come into effect from the date the gazette was published.

As part of the merger, officers of the two cadres will get similar benefits from now onward.

Earlier on September 18, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave her nod to the much-waiting proposal in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).

The decision was given during discussion on a project titled 'Establishment of BCS Economic Academy (2nd revised)' which was placed in the ECNEC for its approval. The PM also asked to change the academy's name as 'National Administration Development Academy'.
