'Adulterating iftar items won't be tolerated'

Staff Correspondent: Issuing a warning, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon said adulterating iftar items will not be tolerated during the holy month of Ramadan.

The mayor made the warning at a view exchange meeting held at Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Thursday.

Sayeed Khokon said prices of all daily commodities including vegetables are now at sustainable stage compared to the previous year. Even city dwellers can be able to buy the daily commodities at cheaper rate than the previous year.

Warning dishonest businessmen, he said, "Stern action will be taken against those who will be found involved in mixing formalin with fruits and adulterating iftar items. Adulteration in the iftar items will not be tolerated."
