Advance bus, train tickets for Eid travel from Monday

Staff Correspondent:  The advance sale of bus and train tickets for Eid-ul-Fitr holidaymakers will start on Monday (June 12).

According to railway sources, the advance sale of train tickets for Eid-ul-Fitr holidaymakers will start on June 12 and return ticket sale will begin on June 19. The final decision in this regard will be announced on Thursday.

Railway Ministry sources said, Eid advance tickets will be sold from 8.00am to 5.00pm in special arrangements from Dhaka and Chittagong Railway Stations.

Tickets will be sold from 23 counters at the Kamalapur Railway Station. There will be 2 counters for women. Tickets will be sold continuously from 8.00am to 5.00pm. One can buy a maximum of four tickets.

The train and bus tickets will be sold online.

A pair of new interrupted intercity trains will be introduced on the Dhaka-Chittagong-Dhaka rail route before Eid.  Apart from this, 7 pairs of special trains will be organized on the occasion of the Eid on various routes for the convenience of passengers.
Bangladesh Bus, Truck Owners’ Association Vice President and Managing Director of Shyamoli Paribahan Ramesh Chandra Gosh said the advance sale of bus tickets will start in the morning of June 12.

“The sale will continue until the tickets are finished,” he said. 

The Eid is expected to fall on June 27, a date subjected to moon sighting.
