Aid ship arrives in Ctg port with supplies for Rohingya

Staff Correspondent: A Malaysian aid ship carrying food and emergency supplies for hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims who took shelter in Bangladesh has arrived in Chittagong Container Terminal.

The Rohingya aid ship Nautical Aliya anchored at the port with 1,400 metric tons of relief.

Chittagong Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shamsul Arefin and Cox's Bazar district deputy commissioner (DC) Ali Hossain received the relief goods on Tuesday noon.

Omar Faruk, secretary of Chittagong Port Authority told risingbd.com the authority has received the relief goods and steps were taken to store the goods a warehouse.

The relief aid included necessary medicine accessories, food stuff and clothes.

Cox's Bazar is close to Rohingya refugee camps in the area such as the Kutupalong camp, where more than 10,000 Rohingya families are said to reside.

Cox's Bazar DC Ali Hossain said the relief goods hands over process may took couple of days.

Police, BGB, Coast Guard and other law enforcing agencies will assists during relief goods handover process.
