Alert on border to prevent entering illegal arms

Staff Correspondent: A high alert has been sounded on the border by law enforcing agencies so that weapons cannot enter illegally the country ahead of the national election.

A list of 350 people involved in illegal arms business in border areas has been made. At least 80 people have already been arrested. The operation is underway to arrest the rest.

The police headquarters sources said that the demand for arms increases during the election. Cadres from different political parties become interested in using arms. These weapons are used in the elections to dominate themselves in their areas. Arms dealers provide arms to various political parties before the election.

In special drives from October 1 to October 18, 250 firearms and 716 bullets were recovered. In the incidents 307 people were arrested and 212 people were sued. Likewise, nearly 300 firearms were recovered from October 19 to last week. 350 people were arrested. Of them, about 80 people were illegal arms traders.
