All public varsities to be monitored digitally: PM

Parliament Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that all public universities to be monitored under Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) to avoid untoward situations.

The Premier made the disclosure while replying to a question of Awami League lawmaker Morshed Alam at 14th Session of 10th Parliament on Wednesday.

Sheikh Hasina said the incumbent government took Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) to develop the quality of education and research ahead of vision-2021.

She also said Overhead Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) network is being used under the deal with Bangladesh power Grid Company. Besides, a total of 42 point to point optical fiber cable connectivity has been setup already. As a result, 34 public universities got campus network and teachers and students are enjoying hi-speed internet facility.
