Allama Shafi shifted to Dhaka

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Hefajat-e-Islam Amir and Director General of Darul Ulum Moinul Islam Madrasa at Hathazari Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi has been shifted to Dhaka from Chittagong as his physical condition has deteriorated.

An air-ambulance carried Allama Shafi to Asgar Ali Hospital at Gendaria in Old Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.

Hefajat’s spokesperson Mawlana Munir Ahmed said the party chief has been suffering from respiratory problems since Monday afternoon.

According to physician’s advice, the Islamist leader has been taken to Asgar Ali Hospital at Gendaria in Old Dhaka.

Allama Shafi’s eldest son, Mawlana Yusuf, and personal assistant, Mohammad Shafique and some other associates accompanied him to Dhaka.
