Amir Khasru put on one-day remand

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A court in Chattogram placed BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on a one-day remand in a case filed under ICT act.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin passed the order on Thursday noon.

Confirming the matter, Additional Police Commissioner Kazi Shahabuddin said the law enforcers produced him before the court seeking two-day remand on charge of giving provocation during students protest.

Later, the court granted one-day remand and ordered to submit report within next five days.

On August 4, Chattogram City Unit Acting General Secretary Jakaria Dastagir filed the case under ICT Act and Special Power Act with the city's Kotwali Police Station.
