'Any negligence of poll officers will not be tolerated'

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said that any negligence of election officers will not be tolerated in the upcoming Comilla City Corporation (CCC) election.

The CEC made the opinion while addressing a view exchange meeting at Comilla Shilpakala Auditorium on Saturday.

“We are only the supporters of law and justice. No parties will be able to keep them (election officers) away from performing their responsibilities,” he said.

He also said, "I had worked as a deputy commissioner in Comilla for two years. I have trust on the people of the people Comilla. The Comilla city polls will be free and fair."

The law enforcers will rush to the spot instantly, if election officer call them, he added.

Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Alam presided over the programme where Comilla City Corporation (CCC) election officer Rakib Uddin Mandal, BGB sector commander Colonel Gazi Ahsanuzzaman and others attended.
