Army may be deployed during national polls: CEC

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said army may be deployed during the 11^th general elections.

The CEC came up with the comment while replying to a query from journalists after a roundtable programme titled “Introducing Overseas Voting in Bangladesh: Issues and Challenges” held at the auditorium of Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (Cirdap) in the capital on Sunday.

Nurul Huda said, “The army personnel were deployed during the previous elections. So, army may be deployed during the next general elections if necessary.”
