Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka's special court has issued arrest warrant against BNP's Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of the Special Judge Court-3 of Bakshibazar in the capital came up with the order on Thursday after cancelling his bail granted earlier in the case.

Meanwhile, the court granted time petition sought for BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

The court also asked her to appear before it on January 30, saying the bail would be cancelled if she fails to appear before it on the day.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on July 3, 2008 with Ramna Police Station accusing Khaleda, her eldest son Tarique, residing in the UK since 2008, and four others for misappropriating over Tk 2.10 lakh that was received as grant for orphans from a foreign bank.

The other accused in the case are former BNP lawmaker Halimul Huq Kamal, business man Sharfuddin Ahmed, former principal secretary Dr Kamal Uddin Siddique and Mominur Rahman, nephew of late president Ziaur Rahman.
