Asia Hockey Cup 2017 starts in Dhaka

Sports Correspondent: Asia Hockey Cup- 2017 has begun in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal MP formally inaugurated the Asia’s biggest hockey event at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.

Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, Bangladesh Hockey Federation President and Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Abu Esrar, Chief Executive Officer Asian Hockey Federation Tayyab Ikram and ATN Bangla Chairman also Bangladesh Hockey Fedaration vice-president Dr Mahfuzur Rahman.

Bangladesh, who have been placed in Pool A along with India, Pakistan and Japan in Pool A, will begin their journey against Pakistan.

India is playing against Japan in the inaugural day of the tournament. Star Sports-2 is broadcasting the match.
