Aspirants begin to appeal against rejection for 2nd day

Staff Correspondent: Aspiring candidates have begun to file appeal at the Election Commission challenging the rejection for the second consecutive day.

The rejected candidates were seen submitting necessary documents around 9:00am on Tuesday.

Election Commission sources said that the appeal of rejected applicants started on Monday. They can appeal for their candidature at the commission until Wednesday. Later, the EC will announce final decision December 6, 7 and 8.

Last reported until Monday evening, a total of 84 candidates filed in the appeals at the commission office.

Following the issue, EC secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed said a total of 786 nominations were cancelled. The rejected aspirants are allowed to appeal for their candidature on December 3, 4 and 5.
