Attack on prison van: Minhaj on 3 days remand

Staff Correspondent: A court in Gazipur on Tuesday placed Minhajul Islam, 20, the cohort of militant Mostafa Kamal, on a three days remand in a case filed over bomb attack on a prison van for snatching away condemned Huji chief Mufti Abdul Hannan in Gazipur.
Gazipur Judicial Magistrate Court-4 justice Mahbuba Aktar passed the order after police produced the accused before the court seeking 10 days remand.
Earlier, on Monday, a case was filed against eight unidentified people including Mostafa with Tongi Police Station in this connection.
Two crude bombs were hurled at the prison van carrying Mufti Hannan, chief of the banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (Huji), and his aides when they were being taken to Kashimpur jail from a Dhaka court.
Later, police arrested alleged attacker Mostafa from the spot along with a bag containing two patrol bombs, two sound grenades, two crude bombs and two machetes.
