Attack pre-planned, Chhatra League responsible: BNP

Senior Correspondent: BNP termed the yesterday’s clash between its activists and cops at Nayapaltan in the capital a pre-planned incident holding activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League responsible for the clash.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said this at a press conference held on Wednesday night.

Fakhrul said, “The clash began when law enforcers obstructed BNP men who were heading towards their party office with a peaceful procession. At one stage, the BNP men locked into a fierce clash with the cops, leaving many of its activists injured. Suddenly, police vans were set on fire. Who are the people behind the arson?”

“Some people wearing helmets carried out the attack on the police vehicles. As far as I come to know that those attackers are BCL activists. We think the attack was carried out in a planned way,” he said.
