Attorney general receives death threat

Staff Correspondent: Attorney General (AG) Mahbubey Alam, Bangladesh’s highest law officer, has once again received death threat.

The threat was issued in five letters sent to his office on Sunday.

Personal secretary to the AG Kabir Ahmed filed a general diary with Shahbagh Police Station in the evening in this connection, said Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station.

The AG is suffering from insecurity, the OC added.

Mahbubey and his family members were threatened with death on several occasions through letters and short messages service.

He received a death threat on December 7 last, May 30 in 2016 and August 9 in 2015, and October 22 in 2013.
