Australia also feel Tigers' aggression; says Mushfiqur

Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim said the Tigers showed aggression against Australia in the first Test in Dhaka which Bangladesh won by 20 runs.

Many words were exchanged between the Bangladeshi and Australian players in the first Test. Bangladesh did not let Australia to get over them.

Mushfiqur feels that it’s a huge message to all. He pointed out of Australian players slowing down the game. When Glenn Maxwell was facing Shakib Al Hasan just before the lunch, he and Pat Cummins got engaged in a conversation. Mushfiqur screamed at them and said, “The bowler is ready!”

“They had aggression but we also showed that Bangladesh can be an aggressive side. They saw it in our body language, apart from how we did with the bat and ball,” Mushfiqur said.

“If you noticed towards the end of the first session, (Glenn) Maxwell tried to ensure that there was no more overs by taking up five of the six minutes. The Australian team were on the back foot, trying not to play an over," the captain said.

“I thought it is a huge message. Even they talked to our taileneders, to our junior players. They know that an extra run here is crucial. But we also returned them the favour. They found out that we are no longer the Bangladesh of old, that we now have the players who can now change the course of a match from any position, " he added.

The skipper is aware of not becoming too complacent. He wants to take the opportunity to win the series.

“We should be careful of not becoming too complacent. It is hard to get the Australian team under pressure so we must take the opportunity to win the series," he said.
